Strengthening our Infrastructure Advisory Team

BetterAIM is pleased to announce the appointment of Sher Gurung as Consultant – Infrastructure Advisory / Hydraulic Modeller.

Based in Queensland, Sher brings more than 15 years of experience across the water, wastewater, stormwater, flood modelling and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) sectors. His diverse background spans engineering, research and academia across Australia, South Korea and Nepal, providing a unique combination of practical infrastructure expertise and evidence-based analytical capability. 

Sher has extensive experience supporting the planning, design and delivery of critical water infrastructure projects, including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, sewerage strategies, pump stations and hydraulic modelling initiatives. His technical expertise covers water, wastewater and stormwater modelling, asset planning, infrastructure design and performance assessment. 

Prior to joining BetterAIM, Sher worked across consulting, local government and research environments, contributing to a range of projects throughout Queensland. He has also undertaken significant academic and research roles, including completing a PhD at James Cook University and contributing to applied research focused on environmental management and water systems. ​​

Sher is recognised for his collaborative approach, strong technical capability and ability to combine engineering judgement with data-driven analysis. His experience in both industry and research enables him to help clients better understand infrastructure performance, support informed investment decisions and deliver sustainable long-term outcomes.
